Chuck Wayne was an American jazz guitarist, known for his virtuosity and ability to play in a wide variety of musical styles. He was born in New Jersey in 1923 and began playing the guitar at a young age. Wayne went on to become one of the leading jazz guitarists of his generation, performing with many of the greatest jazz musicians of the era, including Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, and Stan Getz. He was also an accomplished composer and arranger, writing music for both jazz and classical ensembles.
