Jimmy Wyble was an American jazz guitarist and a key figure in the development of Western swing guitar. Born on June 7, 1921, in Bonham, Texas, Wyble developed an early interest in music, and by the age of 16, he was already playing with regional dance bands. In the 1940s, he moved to California, where he became a sought-after session musician and played on recordings with some of the biggest names in jazz and popular music. In addition to his work as a sideman, Wyble was also an accomplished solo guitarist and recorded several albums under his own name.
