Kenny Burrell is an American jazz guitarist who has played a major role in the development of jazz guitar. He is known for his soulful, blues-inflected style and skillful improvising. He has released many albums as a bandleader and has also worked as a sideman for many other musicians. He also taught at several prestigious music schools and helped to establish jazz guitar as an important part of music education.
